Overview:

The consultation we provide is to evaluate a potential construction project and help the client determine the best course of action.  We will meet with you for approximately two and one half to three hours on site.  He will listen carefully to your goals and evaluate those goals with respect to budget, architectural, structural, zoning, and scheduling constraints. He will then suggest, if practicable, multiple concepts that will enable you to achieve your goals in a functional and aesthetically pleasing manner.   If time permits, which is often the case for small to mid-size projects, he will provide preliminary sketches of possible design solutions.

• Discuss the overall project concept
  • What are your overall objectives
  • Can you prioritize the objectives
  • How long do you plan on being at this location
  • Have you established a budget
  • When would you like to have the project completed
• For existing facilities we walk through the interior and exterior and possibly take measurements of applicable areas to help with potential design concepts.
• Consider possible design solutions, and prepare some preliminary sketches to convey these concepts.
• Review with the client possible design concepts and discuss project design highlights and features, as well as challenges and limitations.
• Discuss project logistics such as building costs, fees, permits, and scheduling.
• Leave with the client any sketches, notes or other information generated at the meeting.

Things you can do prior to the meeting

• Consider and document your project objectives and priorities.
• Assemble photos, magazines or samples of features you like.
• Find a copy of your plat, or location survey.
