The concept for this project was an alien spacecraft crashing into the exterior of a discount shopping store.  The spaceship structure required engineering calculations to determine the anchorage and equipment necessary for attachment to the building.

We had to ensure this new feature would not compromise the building’s foundation, exterior façade and wall system. To do this, we used cold form steels studs from the top of the foundation to the underside of the roof.

We worked with our client, who fabricated the structure, to choose the best means and methods from an engineering and construction perspective. Our client used a glazing application to create the look of cracking and damage, as one would expect from the impact of a large un-identified object hitting a building.

We think the end product is out of this world!
